Health Tips to Increase Cardiorespiratory Endurance and Regulate Heart Rate

Written on November 6, 2008 – 3:26 pm | by jessie | Filed under Health Tips |

The following are some health tips to increase your cardiorespiratory endurance and regulate heart rate to maintain good health. “A sound mind resides in a sound body”, as what the ancient Greeks believed which still applies today.

Cardiorespiratory Endurance

The ability to deliver oxygen and nutrients to tissues, and to remove wastes, over sustained periods of time. Long runs and swims are among the methods employed in measuring this component.

Heart Rate Zone

Depending on your age, level of conditioning, and your fitness goals, you should train in a particular heart-rate zone. Beginners should try to elevate their heart rate to 50%-60% of their maximum while intermediates and advanced should shoot for 70%-85% of their max. The higher your heart rate, the more calories you will burn and the more fit you can become. To figure your maximum heart rate, simply subtract your age from 220. For example, if you’re 30 years old, you would have a maximum heart rate of 190. To work at 70% of your maximum heart rate, you would shoot for a heart rate of approximately 133 beats per minute (0.7 x 190). You can also count bpm (beats per minute) in 10-second increments and then multiply by six.

    Mhy,

I always find time to do some exercises especially now that stress on me is too much. Simple and light exercises will do just fine. Walking is a good way to increase cardiorespiratory endurance and regulate heart rate. A kilometer of walking will be very good for your health. You may do it once a day or once ever other day.

    Amor,

That’s just normal fren. You see, when we get sick, our body functions like our heart rates are altered. Usually the increase in heart rate during fever is a sign that your heart is working harder to compensate for the higher amount of oxygen needed by your body when you are not well. Our blood carries oxygen throughout the whole body so the heart should pump more blood to sustain the oxygen requirements of our systems. ;-)
